An in-kitchen private dining experience, Chef Tim’s Table takes diners into the heart of the hotel as they watch their personalized menu unfold before their eyes. The six course meal is like no other and prepared by our one and only Chef Tim, Executive Chef of the Crowne Plaza Reading for over 17 years.
#CTT is perfect for VIP events, anniversaries and other special occasions. Crowne Plaza Reading has proudly offered the room back to the community in the form of raffle items and free meals. From the time #CTT was completed in April 2015 to December that same year it is estimated that over $40,000 has gone back to the community and it continues to grow.
Timothy Twiford, Executive Chef and Culinary Director of Crowne Plaza Hotel, in Wyomissing, uses his culinary talent and big heart to make a lasting impact on the Reading community. Twiford’s major project is Chef Tim’s Table, a special dining experience that he donates to be auctioned at fundraising events held for local nonprofits.
After high school, Twiford fed his passion for cooking by working under Chef Alan Rutter at The Inn at Reading, until given the opportunity to enroll at The Culinary Institute of America. Upon graduation, Twiford started his career as the Executive Chef at The Inn at Reading. Over the next 14 years, in addition to cooking at The Inn, he instructed classes for area schools and was featured in a local television miniseries, “Inn the Kitchen with Chef Tim”, which aired weekly and featured many favorite recipes.
When not cooking, Twiford is passionate about spending time with his wife and three children, and working with the homeless, children, seniors and inmates transitioning back into society. “Everything counts; be your best,” he advises. “Never underestimate your ability to influence someone in a positive or negative way.”
Christopher Polk is the pastry chef at the Crowne Plaza Reading. He has a true passion for the pastry arts which is evident in his work. He enjoys working on intricate individual desserts as wells as banquet desserts.
He has a very diverse background that allows him to create breath taking displays of award winning desserts.
An upcoming feature of the hotel is going to be a pastry studio where Chris will be able to share his talents with the hotel’s guests. The studio will be an interactive pastry experience where small groups of guests will be able to taste desserts that are created right in front of them. Chris is very excited about the studio and being able to share has passion and create a person experience for the guests.
